Athlete Safety Guidelines

The ASMS Sports Protection Handbook outlines the safety protocols, equipment requirements, and best practices for all adaptive sports participants. Please review this handbook before your first lesson.

Required Safety Equipment

All participants must wear a properly fitting ASTM/CPSC-certified ski helmet. Wrist guards are recommended for snowboarders. Additional protective equipment may be required based on individual disability and program type.

Medical Information

Athletes or guardians must complete a medical intake form prior to the first lesson. Please disclose all relevant medical conditions, medications, and contraindications to physical activity.

Instructor Protocols

All ASMS instructors are PSIA-certified adaptive ski instructors. Lesson-to-athlete ratios are maintained to ensure maximum safety and individualized attention.

Mountain Safety Rules

All athletes are expected to follow Vermont Ski Area Association safety guidelines, including yielding to other skiers, staying in control, and adhering to posted trail signage.
